Gyosei Handa Shonin was responsible for building the Buddhist Temple at Willen, which was completed in 2004. Dedicating his life to campaigning tirelessly for peace, he spent 12 months in the early 1980s walking across Asia to Japan.
He was also closely involved with bringing the Peace Pagoda to Milton Keynes, which was the first in the Western Hemisphere.[1]
Gyosei Handa Shonin was a wonderfull man, and touched many peoples hearts and helped many people through troubled times, he is loved by all that knew him and made a huge impact in this world, he is know all over the globe.
Mainly for his work in Milton Keynes, building the Milton Keynes Pecase Pagoda, and Japanese Temple.
Many have mourned his death, after he died in a tragic accident back in 2007, with hundreds attending the funeral all over the world, it was a historic day that all will remember.
After living with Maruta, the nun based at the Milton Keynes Temple for over 30 years, she mourns his death and celebrates his life work, and continues to bringing peace to all humanity.
Recently, Major company, Linden Lab™ who are behind the Virtual World/Platform Second Life™ named a Simulator on their Main Grid after Handa, called Bay City - Handa. This is one Simulator in what is a big Community Development, and was done by Linden Lab™ Staff after it was suggested on the Second Life Wiki.
