Gynoug (suggested pronunciation: /'dʒaɪnʌg/[1]), also known as Wings of Wor in North America, is a video game for the Sega Mega Drive, developed by Masaya and published by NCS Corporation in 1991. The game sprites were designed by the sprite designer of legendary shooting title Cho Aniki.[clarify] Mean Machines magazine reviewed the title, giving it 88%.[2] It had four levels of difficulty: easy, medium, hard and "hyper". It is a side scrolling shooter title, in the same vein as R-Type, Gradius or Darius.

[edit] Plot
Wor, a winged man capable of using magic, must fight back against the monstrous creatures which have invaded his home planet, Iccus. If he should fail, however, his wings are to be clipped and his planet enslaved.
[edit] Levels
- Round 1 - Caves with deep, dark passageways in the background.
- Round 2 - A more "natural" level, with Wor flying through the open air over water.
- Round 3 - A quasi-gothic city.
- Round 4 - A entirely mechanical level.
- Round 5 - A bizarre world with floating aberrations, reminiscent of inside the human body.
