[edit] Preservation
No. 4942 arrived at Woodham Brothers Scrapyard in Barry, South Wales, in 1964 after withdrawal in 1963. She was bought by the Didcot Railway Centre in 1974, who also bought 5900 Hinderton Hall.
[edit] 2999 Lady of Legend
It was decided that No. 4942 would be transformed into a GWR 2900 Class, of which none has survived into preservation. She is now the newest member of the class, No. 2999 Lady of Legend.[1] As of 2008, she is very nearly complete and could steam in either 2009 or 2010.
