GWR 4575 Class

The Great Western Railway (GWR) 4575 Class is a class of steam locomotive. They are 2-6-2T small prairie type based on the 4500 Class but with larger side tanks.

No less than 11 of these tank engines survived:
- 4588, at Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway - under overhaul (GWR Green and for sale)
- 5521, currently working in Poland (GWR Green)
- 5526, at South Devon Railway - Operational (BR Black and auto-fitted)
- 5532, at Llangollen Railway - Under Restoration
- 5538, at Dean Forest Railway - Under Overhaul (GWR Green)
- 5539, at Llangollen Railway - Under Restoration
- 5541, at Dean Forest Railway - Under Overhaul (BR Lined Green)
- 5542, at West Somerset Railway - Operational (GWR Green) - auto-fitted
- 5552, at Bodmin and Wenford Railway - Operational (BR Lined Green)
- 5553, at West Somerset Railway - Operational (BR Lined Green)
- 5572, at Didcot Railway Centre - On static display awaiting overhaul
Number 5553 was the last steam engine to leave Woodhams' Scrapyard in Barry, South Wales, in January 1990.

One of these locomotives with the GWR Shirtbutton logo was featured in the train chase sequence from the 1977 Disney film, Candleshoe.
