According to this article in the Journal of Liberal History, http://www.liberalhistory.org.uk/uploads/25_jones_a_breach_in_the_family.pdf , Gwilym used the spelling "Lloyd-George" not "Lloyd George" - "In his new post Lloyd-George (his use of the hyphen was significant)."
