Gwinhurst is an unincorporated community in Brandywine Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware, United States, at a location of 39°47'30"N 75°28'45"W. The elevation ranges from 60 to 110 feet above sea level.
Gwinhurst is located between Claymont and the incorporated town of Bellefonte. It also shares borders with similar unincorporated villages such as Silverside Heights, Perkins Run, Greenmount, Claymont Addition, Holly Oak, and Hillendale. Public services are mainly provided by New Castle County. Gwinhurst is located within the Brandywine Hundred School District.
Although no official census exists for Gwinhurst, it is located within the Suburban Sprawl of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Wilmington, Delaware. There are 432 residential properties and 2 commercial properties in the community. [1]The estimated population in 2008 is approximately 1,200. [2] The population within a 7 km (4.4 mile) radius around the village is approximately 100,000.[3]
