Gwatar also gwatre (گواتر) is a small village located in Sistan va Baluchestan, Iran.

gawtar was military base of Portuguese colonialists before it turn to a village, old village of gwatar was a trade base before it had been devastated in family war between its sardarzahi rulers, sardar jalalkhan and sardar mirsuban, after the war all of its population immigrated to Pakistani harbor of jiwani.

 gwatre is an important economic base in south east of Iran, specially a place for aquaculture and shrimp farming. a new village has been built shrimp farmers
