I am a systems librarian working in the San Francisco Bay area. I am also a self-taught Linux and web geek, although it has taken me years to see myself that way.
I spent my junior year of high school as an exchange student in France and my junior year of high school in Hamburg, Germany. At various times in my life I have lived in Texas, Massachusetts, Seattle, and (briefly) in England.
Some things I do:
- transcribe print books into braille for the Washington Talking Book and Braille Library
- read voraciously
- knit
Some topics I'm interested in:
- open source software
- librarianship
- history, especially the different ways in which different people or groups of people tell the same story
Some things I know:
- I can speak French and German as well as English.
- I am a stickler for grammar and spelling; the majority of my edits are corrections to typos.
