Why is this biography a tax related article? I don't see anything in the biography that makes him relevant to the project. Morphh (talk) 18:21, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

- Dear Morphh: I think I added the project tag to this article simply because Helvering's main claim to fame (at least in my eyes) is that he was an IRS Commissioner when some leading tax cases were decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. Back then, instead of filing a tax refund lawsuit as, say, Famspear v. United States, you would have filed it as Famspear v. Helvering.
-
- In retrospect, I guess maybe that in and of itself arguably might not be enough. If you think the article should be removed from the Taxation project, I would go along with that. Or, maybe I can do some looking around and see if the "tax" aspect of Helvering can be expanded in the article?? Famspear (talk) 18:39, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

OK. I will try to see if I can find some sources on Helvering with respect to his tenure as Commissioner of Internal Revenue. Yours, Famspear (talk) 20:40, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
