Guy d'Obonner

Guy d'Obonner or O'Bonner is the pen-name of Marion D. Farell (born March 14 1956) Irish journalist, essayist, art critic who currently lives and works in Central Europe (mainly in Slovakia and in Hungary). Guy d'Obonner studied painting, photo and graphic design in London than moved to Bratislava in 1989, in the time of "nežná revolúcia" (velvet revolution). Though she had no formal training in literature or creative writing, Guy d' Obonner was invited to work to some Slovakian and Hungarian publishing houses. Although she does not consider writing to be her principal occupation, she is rather active in the literary scene of the area . Her major works include Silhouettes in Shadow (selection of essays, Budapest, 1993), Hidden Myth in Slavic Paintings (essays and art critics, Bratislava, 1995). Also she works under her real name (Marion D. Farell) as free lance visual artist.
