[edit] Early career
A native of Perth, Australia, Maddison played in mid-1980’s punk bands such as Greenhouse Effect. After moving to Sydney in 1986 he played bass for Lubricated Goat under the pseudonym Buster Smallgoods. Maddison formed a side project with former Lubricated Goat band mate Peter Hartley called Monroe’s Fur and relocated to Seattle.
[edit] Mudhoney
In the mid 1990’s Guy played with Mark Arm, E.J. Renestair and Martin Bland in the third incarnation of Bloodloss, a blues-punk band originally started in Adelaide, Australia in 1982. During the late 90’s Maddison was the front man for the Seattle band Tall Poppies, playing guitar and singing lead. In 2001, after founding Mudhoney bassist Matt Lukin retired from the band, Maddison accepted an offer to join the band. He has continued as their bassist, appearing on their three most recent albums. He currently fronts Seattle band The Bricklane. He also works as a nurse assigned to the cardiac intensive care unit at a local Seattle hospital.
