Guy Ecker (born Guy Frederick Ecker on February 9, 1959 in São Paulo, Brazil) is a Brazilian-born Mexican[citation needed] actor better known for his work in telenovelas.
Ecker became a household name in Latin-America after his portrayal of Sebastian Vallejo in the Colombian telenovela Cafe Con Aroma de Mujer. A second Colombian production, Guajira also proved successful. In 1998, he moved to Mexico and won his his first leading role in that country playing opposite Kate del Castillo in the telenovela La Mentira. Leading roles in Salomé and Heridas de Amor have followed.
American viewers may be familiar with him through his work in the TV show Las Vegas as Detective Luis Perez (who is killed in the Iraq War).

He was once married to Nia Peeples.
Ecker's son, Jon Michael Ecker, an aspiring actor in Mexico, is currently dating Mexican actress Ingrid Martz who co-starred with Guy in Heridas De Amor. Ecker did not know he had a son until John Michael was seventeen.
In 2000, he married former Mexican model Estela Sainz, and the couple have two sons, Liam and Kaelan, and a daughter, Sofia.
