Gusevsky District

Gusevsky District (Russian: Гу́севский райо́н) is a district (raion) of Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia. The district's administrative center is the town of Gusev. District's population: 37,461 (2002 Census); 7,533 (1989 Census; rural population only).

The district is situated in the eastern part of the oblast, and populated sparsely. Rivers in the district include Pissa and Angrapa. The southern parts of the district are dominated by forests, in the northern parts forests and steppe pasture prevail. The economy is centered around agriculture. The main railway line and road from Kaliningrad to Moscow pass through the district.
