[edit] in National Capital Territory
The article states that Gurgaon is both part of the National Capital Territory and the state of Haryana. However, these are two separate political units. I believe that Gurgaon is in Haryana, and that there was confusion between the National Capital Territory and the National Capital Region (which includes the National Capital Territory and its suburbs. Can someone confirm this from non-wikipedia sources?

[edit] STATE OF GURGAON IS NOT HARYANA,BUT IT IS JUST CONSIDERS AS NCR
I note that this city is listed in the category, "Delhi neighborhoods." It is, however, a separate city. Can someone kindly explain? Unless someone can point out why it belongs in that category, gurgaon is in ncr..--Mantanmoreland 12:53, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- Hi. Gurgaon is contiguous to Delhi. That takes nothing away from the fact that it's a separate city. --Amit 18:54, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Some portions need a relook
The part about security situation in Gurgaon and the bad roads is too subjective and based on the writer's opinion. I live in Gurgaon and have no security concerns. The roads have been relaid across most of the city and I see no issues with it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 122.162.99.170 (talk) 03:08, 22 March 2007 (UTC).
Traffic's a nightmare, but it's pretty safe. Appropos of nothing, the formatting on this page is buggered, and I've no idea how to fix it. Baggie 00:19, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I agree. The article needs to be wikified. Can someone put up the appropriate tag, so that it may be fixed ? I will wait for a while before doing so myself. Any issues ? Vijeth 09:23, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Could someone please inform the writer that "Hero Honda" is not a "car manufacturer"??
[edit] History
The following edit has just been undone. The editor was unregistered and replaced the existing text with the one as follows (diff). The same set of text was also added in Rohtak (diff) and therefore has created doubts on authenticity. thevikas (talk) 11:12, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- Since the Aryan migration through current times Gurgaon is dominated by the Jats race. Jats, like the citizens of ancient Roman alternated between farming and fighting for their lands in this part of the world for centuries. This fierce race had been the buffer by default shielding Hindus from foreign Islamic invasions from the west. Jats have cultivated and protected the lands in and between 'Punjab region' and 'doab' (two rivers Yamuna and Ganga - this region today includes New Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Pakistani Punjab, Pakistani Sindh).
[edit] Tags added
I have added a tag (reads like an essay) to the Quality of Life section. The whole "transportation" section reads like a never-ending rant. While I agree with most of what is written, the content and tone is far from encyclopaedic. The whole article needs to be better written in fact. -- Amit 16:33, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Also added tag (Unverfied) to the "Outlook" section -- Amit 16:44, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Population
The population figure has been nearly doubled without a comment on the talk page. Can someone please verify it? Amit 05:24, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Advertising
The , gurgoaonscoop website in external links looks inappropriate to me. I'm going to remove it unless someone can give a good reason to keep it. Amit (talk) 12:25, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I guess yo should get rid of it. I don't see a point in keeping it. Vijeth 10:01, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
I had to remove lots of links to external websites that were within the content. Had also removed the incorrect category called International Schools and merged all those in the list into the High School list. Also converted few links into references. This is the first warning to the contributors who come to this wiki and just list their school names. We already have a long list of school and its only getting bigger. This page is not a directory for Gurgaon Schools. Make a new page which lists such items. thevikas (talk) 06:08, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Removed another set of images include the DLF thing at the first page itself. Also cleaned and removed some sentences which is a opinion of the writer. Most such work needs to be done. thevikas (talk) 09:33, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Seriously ?
Do we really need a list of all the residential properties in gurgaon ? They even mention that some of them are under construction. This in my opinion is absurd. This is an encyclopedia, not a property\classified website. Please look into this.

- I deleted it. Could somebody local trim the hotel and malls lists? --Orange Mike | Talk 22:23, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Images
Okay, I really love images - they make an article look good, and they're often difficult to obtain. But I think the Gurgaon page has more images than text. Either we need to expand the text, or put a lot of the images into some sort of image gallery located at the bottom of the page, as has been done on the Great Wall of China page. If no one objects, should I start moving a few of the images into a gallery (if nothing else, so that the page displays and formats correctly)? Vamooom (talk) 21:32, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- I've moved a gargantuan number of images into the gallery, reformatted the page, and fixed the display issues it was having earlier. However, although we have many images of skyscrapers and such, we need pictures of government buildings, some of the universities located in/around Gurgaon, etc. Vamooom (talk) 22:10, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Pronunciation
The pronunciation is Gudgaon and not Gurgaon. The pronunciation .ogg should reflect this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.57.43.83 (talk) 00:44, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] STOP ADDING IMAGES
I'm sorry to be "shouting," but please! We do NOT need so many images randomly placed everywhere. I'm not going to take the time to go through the history to find out who is responsible, but please. Just stop it. Vamooom (talk) 23:46, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
