Gurupá is a city on the Amazon River in Brazilian state of Pará.
The city is a center for palm heart extraction and commerce. It is a municipal seat and major river boat port.
Because of the anthropological studies of Charles Wagley and his students, Gurupá is the best researched rural community in the Brazilian Amazon.
