Gunter Teuffel (born 1955 in Stuttgart, Germany) is a musician.
He made his diploma with highest honour (höchste Auszeichnug) under Jürgen Geise and Sandor Végh at the famous Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. He got the 'Würdigungspreis des Österreichischen Ministeriums für Wissenschaft und Kultur'.
His career as principal started in the Camerata academica des Mozarteums Salzburg under Sandor Végh.
Since 1982 Gunter Teuffel is principal of the Radiosinfonieorchester des SWR Stuttgart. As a soloist he performs equally on viola and viola d'amore.
Since 2000 he is professor for viola at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart.
