Gunhild Følstad is a Norwegian football defender from Overhalla near Namsos. The daughter of a football trainer, she lives in Trondheim and currently plays for Trondheims-Ørn and the Norwegian national team for which she had 58 appearances at the end of 2007.
Følstad plays as a central defender for her club and is a strong, quick and reliable player who plays equally well at right- or left-back in the national team. Her throw-in to the six-yard box from the sideline is useful weapon.
She is a qualified physiotherapist and her hobbies are skiing, reading and music. At the Women's World Cup tournament in China in September 2007 Følstad played in matches watched by 50,000 spectators.
