Gundars Vētra

Gundars Vētra (born May 22, 1967 in Ventspils, Latvian SSR, USSR) is Latvian former professional basketball player.
Vētra was the first Latvian to play in the United States' National Basketball Association (NBA). He was a 6' 6" guard/forward who played one season for the Minnesota Timberwolves from 1992–1993. From 1997–2000 he played in Russia for CSKA Moscow. In 2005 he was an assistant coach with basketball club Ural Great in Perm, Russia and then head coach of Latvian club Barons LMT.
