[edit] Plot
After the flamboyant hit of Micheal Madana Kamarajan; Kamal Hassan, Indian silver screen legend proves his acting genius once again in this film. The film songs are composed by maestro illayaraja and are excellent.
The prostitute houses in the film are filmed superbly; according to critics the film is needed to be seen three times in order to understand its genius. Here Kamal portrays a mentally frustrated character which is driven out of ill-stricken family atmosphere, even though he is insane it never shows off in the film.
Acclaimed by some critics the movie was a big success. The audience welcomed the movie. Some even now say the movie should have never been released with Thalapathi. However, the movie still went well. The song "kanmani anbodu kadalan" is the highlight of the movie.
