GunBound Revolution

GunBound Revolution is a version of GunBound made specifically for North America and is hosted by ijji. The game is developed by Softnyx. When the service first opened users from USA and Canada had to log in once to transfer their account to the ijji servers. This was only possible for a short time, afterwards any user who did not complete the transfer had their account info "lost". Instead of GunBound Cash, GunBound Revolution employs the new "G coins" method. Players attempting to illegally move their accounts to the ijji servers have had their accounts banned.

Shortly after its existence, GunBound Revolution has been made open to international players due to public demand. GunBound Revolution ran on Internet Explorer and for some people who had problems with Internet Explorer and decided to use something else for Internet browsing such Mozilla Firefox, they were unable to play Gunbound Revolution because Firefox does not have ActiveX controls which the game launcher runs on. This caused a number of complaints. This problem has, however, been remedied by using a special Firefox Launcher since July 11, 2007.

Ijji servers have been criticized mainly by North American Gunbound Players as servers that are in dire need of improvements. Major glitches appear such as the bot of the enemy not dying even though its health had been depleted or both of the team members' bots appearing in the same spot when a Team Transfer Item is used. These glitches can give the enemy the boost needed to win, therefore angering the rightful winners. These servers also take a long time to load for most North American Players. Also, ijji's website has been known to go down without any notice whatsoever. Since GB: NA can only be started by their website, players were ultimately barred from playing.

Another complaint is that foreign players have a higher ping when attempting to connect with the North American servers, so the game will lag, and some times even stop completely, leading to a stand off of which team will leave first and let the other win.

As of April 28, 2008 Season 2 has been implented and opened for any registered user to access.

There are a total of 24 ranks, not including the Administrator rank. Each rank requires a certain amount of GP to obtain it. When you start off your rank is Little Chick. The next 10 ranks have a set amount of GP required.

The next 13 ranks are on a percentage basis and the requirements for these will change (usually increase) with each day as more people gain GP (with the exception of Metal Double Sided Axe the GP for this rank will remain at 6900 GP).

The Final Administrator rank is a rank specifically for GMs (Game Masters).

[edit] Country/Home Team Ranking

Almost all versions of Gunbound now have Country or Home Team ranking. This is the rank that will usually be displayed first everywhere inside game besides your buddy list. This ranking works exactly the same way as total ranking, the only difference is you are separated from others based on where you are located. People whom live in places with less Gunbound players will usually have a higher rank than their Total Rank.

The rank displayed usually include 2 letters in the corner. This is an abbreviation of your Country or Home Team.^[1]
