Gulf South

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Gulf South is a region of the United States that consists of parts of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas; all of which border the Gulf of Mexico on the Gulf Coast of the United States. Some sources include Arkansas, which does not border the Gulf.

Within Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana the phrase "Gulf South" is used in advertisements, government plans, and just plain common parlance.

The Gulf South is subject to frequent tropical storms and hurricanes which may disrupt society for months.
