The Gulf Coast Raiders are an indoor football team. They are a 2007 expansion member of the American Indoor Football Association and they will play their entire 2007 schedule on the road. They will most likely get a home arena for 2008, in the state of Florida. The team was previously announced as the Gulf Coast Pirates.

The team is named after the previous Gulf Coast Raiders, the former Southern States Football League team based in Tampa, Florida that AIFA co-owner Michael Mink owned (and later merged with the Hernando Eagles) and previously used as a replacement team for the Montgomery Maulers in a National Indoor Football League game against Osceola Football soon after purchasing the Maulers. However, the AIFA team's history is not considered a continuation of that team's.
