Gulbarga University was a post graduation centre of Karnatak University, India. In 1980 The Government of Karnataka enacted a law and gave it the status of university. Its jurisdiction extends to the five districts of Gulbarga District, Bidar District, Raichur District, Bellary District and Koppal District of Hyderabad Karnataka. The main campus is located 10 km away from the Gulburga city centre. The university has more than 37 teaching departments and 4 research centres. The university has a qualified staff of more than 200 members and around 1000 technical and non-technical staff members. The university also has several affiliated colleges.
