This portal works well with Firefox but bugs with Explorer. Is somebody could fixe it?

(The above unsigned comment by user 213.51.124.56.)
It doesn't work on Mozilla 1.7.2 either (which many Win98 users cling to because of stability and performance issues with Firefox). The dominant feature of the page as I see it is a big, blank, blue box, which occupies the entire first screenfull. I need to scroll down to see any content at all. (Actually the colour is more an aqua but I liked the alliteration.) Andrewa 19:34, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Portal:Classical Guitar

Just wondering what the big difference between Portal:Classical Guitar and this portal is, and if they should perhaps be merged to keep things simpler? Nice portal otherwise :-) Madder 11:51, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

It's important to keep a clear difference, especially because, in general, the Classic and Electric Guitar are used for different Styles. It would be very confusing if you put both together ^^. Drake Hyneman 21:30, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jimi Hendrix Son?

Jimi Hendrix doesn't have a son, so why does it say in the small trivia bit that he does? No proof has been made to support the claim. Gumdropster 18:46, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The SG neck

There are some ambiguities in the SG article. If no one has any objections, I will correct them. For example:

1. "...in 1961 the model was given a completely new body style that was thinner and had 2 sharp cutaway horns that made the upper frets more accessible. The neck was slightly heavy, which made it tilt downwards..."

This could be clarified. I think that some readers (including those familiar with the SG) might wonder, "what tilts downwards? The neck? The guitar? When the guitar is sitting on its back? When held in the playing position?" Also, from the context of this article, it is unclear what the relevance of the neck's weight is supposed to be here. Certainly, guitarists tend to talk about the contour, finish, and dimensions of an instrument's neck. But I've never heard one mention weight as a consideration (and those used to the standard Les Paul would likely find anything else a lightweight anyway!).

2. "The newly designed Les Paul was popular but Les Paul, whose namesake was carried over from the previous version, did not like the new design and asked to have his name removed from it. His reasons were simple: He knew the new neck joint was not as stable as the previous models, and didn't want his name on something that would break..."

This is probably not within the NPOV standards. As central as Les Paul is to the history of Gibson axes, it's probably more accurate to say that he feared or suspected that the design would not be as sturdy, unless someone has reliable evidence that SG necks do in fact break at a higher rate (e.g., do guitar techs find themselves repairing more broken necks on SGs than LPs?). In addition, to talk about "stability" in this context seems to imply some things that Paul may, again, have thought, but that SG users might question and that history has not shown to be fact. [edit] "Angular" guitar sound

The article for The Proletariat describes their "angular guitar sound" (comparable to Wire, and Gang of Four). Does this term have an agreed-upon meaning? I'm hoping someone can help me put this in layman's terms in Talk:The Proletariat. / edg 19:08, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
