Guildford High School is an independent school not far from Guildford High Street, on London Road in Guildford. It is an all girls school and has a good reputation throughout Surrey. Its partner school is the Royal Grammar School. It houses a Junior and Senior school, and a sixth-form college . It has about 930 pupils that regularly perform well in the School League Tables making them one of the best Girls' Schools in the country. The curriculum is broad and the school offers a range of extra curricular activities. Music and Drama are strong and several girls are members of the National Youth Orchestra and National Youth Theatre.

Recently, the school has built a new sports centre, including a swimming pool and gym. There are a wide range of sports which can now be undertaken at this sports centre, which contains a sports hall, swimming pool, fitness room and social centre.
The main buildings are: The Senior School, which has 21 classrooms, a main hall and a smaller, activities hall, a canteen (shared with the Junior School), a library, 3 computer rooms, a staff room, several cloakrooms, many laboratories, music rooms, a music techonology room, 2 art rooms, 3 technology rooms (Textiles, Food technology and Resistant Materials), 2 Drama studios, an entrance hall, staff offices and school shop.
Morton House, which contains the sixth-form common room and extra language rooms, including a newly installed 'Language Lab'.
The Junior School, with classrooms, art room, library, music room, science lab, assembly hall and computer room.
The entrance examination mainly consists of English (Essay Writing and Understanding), Mathematics and Interview. For pupils taking part in 13+ and 16+ they will also take a French paper.
Nightingale Road, with extra sixth form teaching rooms, conservatory and garden with an adventure playground.
Sports Center, including indoor swimming pool, canteen and indoor and outdoor courts.
