Red Faction: Guerrilla[1] is a multi-platform video game in development by Volition, Inc. to be published by THQ, and set to be released before Q1 2009.[2]
On February 20, 2008 during Game Developers Conference '08, THQ revealed the game would be an "open world" shooter.[3] THQ has also stated in an interview with Game Informer, that they will take GeoMod to the next level.
In a change from previous versions of the game, Red Faction: Guerrilla will be a third-person shooter. Set 50 years after the events of the first Red Faction, the player makes their way across Mars and fights against the Earth Defense Force. According to Mike Kulas, president of Volition, Inc. "Red Faction: Guerrilla expands the signature destruction elements of the series and pushes the boundaries of next-gen gaming on a massive, terra-formed Mars where gamers can literally tear down the enemy EDF presence brick by brick..."[4]
