how was the spanish colonial empire organised before the independence of mexico?

All of my sources agree that Victoria turned over power on April 1, 1829. These are:

  • Enciclopedia de México. Mexico City, 1988.

  • World Statesmen

These are all very good sources, but it's unusual for them all to agree on exact dates for this period in Mexican history. So this date is well established.
