Guardian Angel (business term)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In business, a Guardian angel is a person who provides capital, and or guidance and business know-how to entrepreneurs and fledgling companies in exchange for some sort of benefit usually in form of a percentage ownership. The choice to invest is solely at the discretion of the Guardian Angel and they will choose to invest if they feel that the venture will be successful or offer them a worthwhile benefit.

On television they can be seen in programmes such as Dragons' Den where participants pitch business ideas to them to secure investment. In this programme they are reffered to as dragons.
