Guang (vessel)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A guang (Chinese: ; pinyin: gōng; Wade-Giles: kung1) is an ancient Chinese ritual wine cup, made of bronze. They were used during the Shang and Zhou dynasties, from around 1700 to 900 BCE. A guang has a vertical handle at one end and a long spout at the other, and guangs were often highly decorated, blurring the line between function and form.
