Guam Public School System

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Guam Public School System (Chamorro: Sisteman Eskuelan Pupblekon Guåhan), formerly the Guam Department of Education, is a school district that serves the entire island of Guam, a United States insular area. The school district can be thought of as analogous to the school districts of other cities and communities in the United States, but in some manners can also be thought of as analogous to the state education agencies of other states.

In 2000, 32,000 students attended Guam's public schools. In 1998 the U.S. Department of Defense opened schools for children of American military personnel. DODEA schools had an attendance of 2,500 in 2000. [1]
