Guaba of Ecuador, in the province of Guayas, near the city of Guayaquil, this fruit comes in the form of a long green pod-type shell - about 30 to 40 centimetres in length - which may be split lengthwise to show a series of small puffy white pulpy flesh coated black seeds. This white puffy pulpy flesh is sweet and easy to eat and easily available in the lower highlands. There are known variations of this fruit in Brazil by the name of huaba, inga, and guamo.
