Gu Tan was a minister of the Three Kingdoms Period who was one of the four friends of the Wu Crown Prince, Sun Deng. When Sun He and Sun Ba were fighting over who would be the heir, Gu Tan voted for Sun He. Gu Tan was then trapped and exiled by supporters of Sun Ba, and died. He was the grandson of the former Prime Minister of Wu, Gu Yong.
