A GT Sled, commonly abbreviated just to GT, is a sleek designed, steerable, light-weight, welded sled. Its design is similar to that of a rocket.
Originally started in 1958 by an Italien inventor Grant Trapinzini who had saw an open market called the youth. Originally called the Grant Trapinzini snoracer, modern slang has condensed it to the GT snoracer. Trapinzini started in northern Europe with his invention which was accepted with great controversey, Parents where scared as this was the first sled in history the could go over 40 km/h. at first they were outlawed in England in the year of 1960 but by then they craze had spread throughout Europe and was revoked in 1961. In 1963 Trapinzini made the leap and crossed the Atlantic and establishing his invention in America. for twenty years it spread across the country and slowly crossed the border into Canada where it was Greatly marketed. Trapinzini then started to renovated his product with new and more sleek in design. starting with the brakes he changed from the traditional hand brake to the new foot brakes that were kids were starting to put on themselves. In 1986 Trapinzini sold his patent to a small american company called Ginger sleds.
