[edit] GT-9600 Gundam Leopard
It is one of three Gundam-type mobile suits which were used by the Old United Nations Earth during the 7th Space War in the anime series After War Gundam X. Like the other two units, the Gundam Leopard also features a flash system, which allows a Newtype pilot to remotely control mobile bits, in the Leopard’s case the FT-9600 GT-Bit. Although it is incapable of atmospheric flight, the Gundam features a set of gliding wheels in its feet. With these wheels, it can drive on the ground at high speed.
The Gundam Leopard is truly a walking fortress. Its main weapon is an inner arm gatling gun (which is also used by the GT-Bit) but it also features a large amount of other projectile weapons like grenade launchers and missiles. It is armed with only a beam knife for close combat though.
Like other Gundams, the Gundam Leopard can be docked with the G-Falcon fighter. The G-Falcon is powerful enough to lift Gundam Leopard, making it capable of atmospheric flight.
Although the Old United Nations Earth constructed a high number of these mobile suits, only one unit is known to have surived the mass colony drop and in AW 0015 this unit is used by Roybea Loy. During this time it was upgraded with an S-1 booster so that the unit could be used underwater. This modification also replaces the inner arm gatling weapon with a multi-torpedo launcher. Roybea’s Gundam was heavily damaged by the NRX-010 Gable but later it was repaired and upgraded to the GT-9600-D Gundam Leopard Destroy.
[edit] FT-9600 (GT-9600-GB) GT-Bit
In the anime series Gundam X, the Old United Nations Earth introduced the Gundam-type mobile suit in the 7th Space War to fight against the Space Revolutionary Army. Each Gundam featured a flash system, which allowed a Newtype to remotely control a number of bit mobile suits. The FT-9600 (GT-9600-GB) GT-Bit was one such a bit (G-Bit) and it was used by the GT-9600 Gundam Leopard. The only weapon of GT-Bit was the same inner arm gatling gun which is used by the Gundam Leopard. When the SRA dropped a great amount of colonies on the Earth, all GT-Bits were destroyed and only one Gundam Leopard survived.
[edit] GT-9600-D Gundam Leopard Destroy
In the anime After War Gundam X, the GT-9600-D Gundam Leopard Destroy is an upgrade to the GT-9600 Gundam Leopard, piloted by Roybea Roy. The original Leopard model was heavily damaged during an intense fight with the New United Nations Earth's NRX-010 Gable, an enormous Mobile Suit equipped with a pair of I-Field generators which could deflect all beam attacks. The Leopard was the only Mobile Suit armed with enough conventional ballistic weapons to destroy the Gable. The decision was made after the battle to upgrade the Leopard to put it on par with the other Mobile Suits on board the Freeden - the newly captured GX-9901-DX Gundam Double X and the refurbished GW-9800-B Gundam Airmaster Burst.
The Leopard Destroy, now repainted in dashing red and white, had a more balanced artillery than its previous form. The single left-arm-mounted gatling was replaced with a pair of beam gatlings which were mounted over the Leopard Destroy's forearms. The standard grenade launcher, previously located on the right hand, was replaced by set of fire linked beam cannons. The shoulders had an 11-tube missile launcher and a twin-barreled beam cannon attached, and the head vulcans were removed to make way for beam vulcans.
The Leopard Destroy also had a few other special features which weren't made much use of. Presumably, the Flash System which allowed a Newtype pilot to control a set of FT-9600 GT-Bit Mobile Suits was still installed in the Leopard Destroy, despite Roybea Roy lacking the Newtype powers necessary to perform such a task. It also retained a set of hardpoints which allowed it to dock with Paula Shisu's G-Falcon, an Old United Nations Earth fighter designed to support the original Gundam trio fielded by the Federation. When docked with the G-Falcon, the Leopard Destroy could take to the skies and launch a bombing raid from above. This feature was only ever tested once, as the Freeden's crew made its way to space before long.
