[edit] Earlier talk
I've moved earlier discussions to archive pages (as listed below). A few of the items I've simply got rid of - if I have, it's simply that it was trivial and/or stuff which has been dealt with, and is therefore no longer relevant. The deletion is not a reflection of my opinion of the writers!

[edit] Stub sorting talk page redirects
A bot gone wild (since stopped) was deleting talk pages that were redirects. It got Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types/Transport and the talk pages for subpages of Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types that were redirected to a central location. It might well have gotten some other stub sorting pages as well. I'd restore the links myself, but I'm not certain where they pointed to. Caerwine Caer’s whines 00:18, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Re: talk page deletion?
They were orphaned in the incoming links sense. Cheers. --MZMcBride (talk) 01:24, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Template:Clutha
I believe we have contrasting opinions of the use of navigational templates. My understanding is that navigational templates should link to articles, and that page requests can be utilized for page creation. Still, good luck with the template, and with future edits. -66.109.248.114 (talk) 02:21, 1 June 2008 (UTC).
[edit] Taranaki map
I've finished with Marlborough now and will move on to Taranaki. Could you make a location map for it please?-gadfium 03:01, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Parts of the NZ project
Seem to be asleep = trust you are well and coping with the usual - just curious - noted after a foray into a wreck article (literal) last night that many NZ project cats are bereft of project tags - however i was wondering - class=cat or class=NA if you ever have had the interest - if not - no worries - cheers and enjoy! SatuSuro 04:37, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Sorry - gadfium had given me a good argument for NA and I have started my chaotic tagging through the project - cheers SatuSuro 07:08, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Good - I wasn't sure which was best to be honest, so I'm glad you found someone who knew! Grutness...wha? 07:58, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
The issue is as gruelling as cat policing - some projects have had their templates set up for class=cat (australia - cj, scott and longhair i think) while indonesia is best with class=NA - and some projects leave me asking questions as there hasnt been adequate visits from the warlord or others to give the projects some advice re project management and assessment - but hey - i reckon new projects or old ones should be encouraged to be very clear in their project main pages as to which they have in their template and for them to say so - even if there only a few weird ones like self interested - oh well - cheers SatuSuro 08:28, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for correcting the page name! Patken4 (talk) 21:07, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] WCL5
And I've reverted it back. As my article should make clear, the ICC has not chosen any teams for Divisions Six to Eight, and there has been no offical indication that any team from Division Five will be chosen. The results from Division Five will be taken into consideration, but only alongside this year's regional tournament results. Though it is likely that all eight teams will be in Divisions Six through Eight, it is not definite. My ICC contact even said as much to me, hence it is still technically speculation. Andrew nixon (talk) 10:41, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- My apologies, I mis-read what you'd put. Andrew nixon (talk) 10:52, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] WP:HAU
Hello yet again. I regretfully inform you that the bot we were using to update the user status at Wikipedia:Highly Active Users, SoxBot V, was blocked for its constant updating. With this bot out of operation, a patch is in the works. Until that patch is reviewed and accepted by the developers, some options have been presented to use as workarounds: 1) Qui monobook (not available in Internet Explorer); 2) User:Hersfold/StatusTemplate; 3) Manually updating User:StatusBot/Status/USERNAME; or 4) Not worry about it and wait for the patch to go through, which hopefully won't take long. If you have another method, you can use that, too. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Useight (talk) 22:30, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lindy fishing
My intention was not advertisement, but information. This is a company that has been around for a long time and is a major part of the fishing heritage - especially in the Upper Midwest. I have reworked the article to exclude specific product references and also the list of professional fishermen associated with the brand. What else can I do? Fishn4 (talk) 16:54, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
"It may not have been your intention to write an advert, but the waqy the article was written certainly made it look like one. There were a lot of peacock terms (e.g., "the list of top walleye fishermen whose careers have been boosted by the Lindy Fishing Team reads like an all-star roster"). Compare your: Lindy Legendary Fishing Tackle produces premium fishing tackle. The Lindy Rig, Lindy’s flagship product, has made its way into the arsenals of over 40 million fishermen since the company began operation in 1968. Today, Lindy Rig is to live bait rig as Kleenex is to facial tissue. with the more neutral: Lindy Legendary Fishing Tackle is an American producer of fishing tackle. Since its founding in 1968, the company's Lindy Rig has been used by over 40 million fishermen*. You'd also need to find a citation to verify the claim marked *. Basically, since this is an encyclopedia you need to use a neutral, dispassionate viewpoint when you're writing an article. It's OK to explain what the company is and does, but try to avoid making it sound like a puff-piece! Hope that helps, Grutness...wha? 00:04, 10 June 2008 (UTC)"
Okay, well I did rewrite the whole thing. Using language much like your example and including four sources, I tried to make the piece as neutral as possible. However, my changes were not reflected on the page. Am I not allowed to write on the topic at all now because I screwed up once? Fishn4 (talk) 17:15, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
