[edit] Indianapolis Colts

For your information: I reverted your recent edit to this article. As stated on Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings): "Capitalise the first letter of the first word and any proper nouns in headings, but leave the rest lower case." Zzyzx11 (Talk) 19:45, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Okely Dokely

That's fine, I'm glad there is a standard. I was just going by what I saw on the Francise History (both were cap'd) on The Tennessee Titans. I will fix that one if it will put me in your good graces. --grubbmeister 20:00, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

  • Thanks. Go ahead and do it. I only noticed your edit on the Colts page because it showed up on my watchlist. Take care. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 20:14, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] A Case of the Mondays (re: Office Space)

Well, I made two more useless edits to the Colts page, basically reverted myself again. Was having trouble linking. Was working on Texans disambiguation, finally noticed I was mis-spelling franchise -- those generally won't link. I see Titans is fixed. Haven't checked yet, but I guess that was probably you. You're the greatest! --grubbmeister 20:20, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Somewhat overdue

Hi! You placed a clean template on Data processing back in December, without leaving anything on the talk page (totally empty), so I was wondering if you would return and fix it up, annote the talk, or delete the template. IMHO, such 'In your face' templates should be on the talk in most all cases, and the talk should always be annoted as to why you made the decision to place them.

No matter, but I also keep a log of such and return to the scene of the crime to see if removing them makes sense, or to do the edit myself.
  • I tend to agree that he article needs some revision work, but it's 'very late', as one townie to another <G>.

[edit] Interesting references for misconceptions re Translation

I have made visible the three inline references you included on 1 March 2006 in the new section Translation#Misconceptions, now appearing at Translation#Footnotes. It seemed a shame to leave them hidden for only editors to read! Fayenatic london 19:01, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] USS Lenoir

Lou: Good work on clarifying the county vs. the town! I put most of the AKA articles into Wikipedia, and it's fascinating to see the improvements to articles about ships that haven't been around for decades. Lou Sander 13:16, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Grubbmeister: Thanks Lou, I was interested to see the ship. Was doing a little personal interest in the Patriot William Lenoir and came across your article. Personally, I've only added about nine articles to Wikipedia. Back when they were threatening to hit a million (and now they have 2,408,532), I started racking my brain to find missing articles. Whipping out a list of old ships? Great Work! Grubbmeister 08:01, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Lou: Years ago I was on one of those old ships (USS Rankin (AKA-103)). I wrote an article about her, then branched into other similar ships, plus ships built at the same place as she was. I finished that project, and haven't done any more, but there are many of them waiting to be done. The basic material is at DANFS, so you can do an article fairly quickly. There's a LOT of Wikification to be done on them, as well as polishing up the DANFS language. Plus you learn about history and exotic locations. Hundreds of APA's (attack transports) are out there waiting to be put on Wikipedia. If I get the "new article bug," I'll probably start on them one day. Lou Sander 13:09, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Grubbmeister: Good stuff, would be ashanmed to let all that work go to waste when such a repository as Wikipedia exists. I am like super-busy these days, and when I need quick info, I trust the collective integrity of Wikipedia editors everywhere to get my pertinent info in seconds. Otherwise if I had the time on my hands... Grubbmeister 17:40, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
