Regarding User:The Real Phantom Triffle

Please point out which specific criteria of the Wikipedia:Username policy this username violates because I do not see any grounds for blocking. I've removed your report from WP:AIV since this user has yet to commit any vandalism. Send it to Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User names if you have any further concerns. --  Netsnipe  ►  14:23, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

I am not sure what username policy that the username you have provided at WP:RFCN is in violation of. If you could come clear that up by explaining why the username is innapropriate, it would be helpful to the process. Thank you. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 14:43, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

RfA

Hi Groupempty, it appears you are unfamiliar with the standards required of administrators, hence the removal of your nomination. If you're interested in future adminship, please familiarize yourself with the project over the next few months and try again. Thanks, Deiz talk 15:09, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Your RfA

Hi there Owie. I am just writing to let you know that I have closed your request for adminship per the so-called snowball clause. Given your very low edit count and limited range of edits, it was clear that the request was not going to succeed - only a couple of editors have ever been given admin status with less than 1000 total edits, and standards have risen consistently since these promotions. I would urge you to explore Wikipedia and learn our policies - a good starting place for this is our introduction page - and reapply in a few months when your fellow editors can better evaluate your suitability as an adminship candidate. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. Yours, Rje 17:35, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

About your 'Final warning: Vandalism on Smile. using TW'

Hi Groupempty, You gave user 209.177.21.6 a final warning notice that I believe was improper. You mentioned the user's edit to Smile, but I do not believe that edit was WP:VAND like you mentioned it was. In the edit the user changes a single image and I would not consider the change to be vandalism. I believe you were a little overzealous and I would suggest you remove or explain to me your use of the final warning notice. MrMacMan 02:23, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

I don't understand your phrases 'That user was usually replacing into a girl with dimples' -- do you mean that the user was replacing a photo with a photo of a girl with dimples? I certainly don't think that warrants the WP:VAND tag... I don't agree with the change and believe it to be in bad taste but that doesn't make it vandalism.
'That may give a bad luck time.' -- I have no idea what that means at all. MrMacMan 02:29, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
Now, I couldn't add a message to you (because the database is enforcably locked. I didn't like that.), so I'll just add it to here. Ahem...I just want to let you know that the image about a girl with dimples is trying to creep me out. And it really gives me a really bad time to do this. This is an automated notice by Groupempty. If you have any questions/comments, please go to my talk page. Thank you! 02:34, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
How is the girl with dimples trying to creep you out personally? That doesn't make any sense. Neither does your last sentence about 'it really gives me a really bad time to do this.' -- what does that even mean? are you trying to say 'it gives me a bad feeling' or 'its hard for me to do this'. Either way that is not a reason to report vandalism. MrMacMan 02:54, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

I saw that page with an entry that said "meatpuppet" listed. What's the difference? Can you tell me?

A sockpuppet is a second (or third, or fourth...) account by the same user that is used to lend support to votes and discussions that user is involved in. A meatpuppet is a separate person, usually using the same computer, that logs on simply to lend support to an individual's votes and discussions. A meatpuppet is not technically a sockpuppet, because there is a different person at the keyboard, but for all intents and purposes, a meatpuppet is the same as a sockpuppet, in that they exist only to lend false credibility to a user by supporting that user in votes/discussions. Hope that helps. If you have any more questions, feel free to post them here or on my talk page. —PurpleRAIN 15:11, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

What is a snowball clause? Someone told me on my talk page!

WP:SNOW. Personally, I don't like it that much. And it's not official policy or guideline. Xiner (talk, email) 03:06, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Why do helpme templates go on talk pages???

Because if you add the helpme template to the talk page. One of the help desk volunteers can respond to the request on that talk page and a dialog can be created that will hopefully help the author of the question.Cheers — WilsBadKarma (Talk) 01:30, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

What is the difference between

blockquote text

and original text? Groupempty (talk contribs) 02:45, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Original text is the general text of the article, web page, et cetera. The blockquote text is what is found inside the blockquote. For an example:

This is the original text,

while this is the blockquote text

Hope that helps. If you have further questions, just ask here in reply and I'll help you out as best as I can. Vassyana 18:08, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

What do you want to request checkuser for? GofG ||| Contribs 23:33, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

What is the difference between {{sprotected2}} and {{sprotected3}}? I checked the Protected Templates list.

Heh, I never knew there was a template at {{sprotected3}}. Looks like it was originally intended to resolve a technical issue -- you may have noticed that featured articles have the star, in the top right corner, and if we have the padlock from {{sprotected2}}, it could cause some overlapping problems. Or could have, before it was fixed. Now that it's fixed, sprotected3 is just a redirect to sprotected2 (so they're essentially the same template). Good question, though. ;) – Luna Santin (talk) 22:21, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

{{helpme|Where do I create new templates?}}

In the Template namespace, as in: Template:Example, which can be called as {{Example}}. You can also use userspace pages as template, e.g. User:Groupempty/Example as {{User:Groupempty/Example}}. See Help:Templates. Sandstein 05:38, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Why is List of swear words in English deleted? I hate it when WP censors things but WP doesn't censor pages!!! WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!

It seems that such a page never existed (see deletion log). However, there is the article Profanity and Category:Profanity. Cheers, --KFP (talk | contribs) 22:28, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

May l change some existing tempIates that other Wikipedians made?

Do you need help with something? --KFP (talk | contribs) 23:20, 15 March 2007 (UTC}

I'm afraid that you'll need to be more specific. --KFP (talk | contribs) 23:49, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes, be bold. But also be constructive. If it is a template that is used a lot, you should discuss it on the talk page first. If it is a protected template, then you will need to describe your proposed change on the talk page and ask an administrator to implement it. --Selket Talk 00:31, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Why can't I protect pages using TW? I added it but it didn't work! I NEED to have good luck today!!!

Probably because only admins can protect pages and you're not an admin. Metros232 16:43, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

{{helpme|It was supposed to be my luk day. <sniff> But, <sniff> all I got is a block JUST like [http://www.uncyclopedia.com Uncyclopedia]. <sniff really badly> All I need is to have a LUCKY day. What should I do after my stupid block expires?!?!}}

You should really stop this silliness. And for your information, your (very clever) block will not expire; it's indefinite. You have been blocked because you were just being disruptive and not contributing to the encyclopedia in any useful way. I you want to return, see the instructions at Wikipedia:Appealing a block, but good luck persuading any admin that you are going to behave. - Mike Rosoft 22:52, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Profanity

I've removed your speedy deletion tag from profanity. Please see WP:NOT#CENSOR. We do not censor our content on Wikipedia, Metros232 03:11, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Also, knock off the "SANDBOT IS A SPAZ" stuff in the sandbox. It's supposed to be to practice editing, not to be disruptive. Thanks, Metros232 03:16, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

{{Typo}}

Why did you create this? Making a typo, no matter how many times, is not blockable. -Amarkov moo! 17:13, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

I was just coming here to say the same thing. These templates are disruptive and reek of biting the newbies and a completely uncivil. To say that someone is a vandal for making a typo is ridiculous, Metros232 17:16, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
