Are these really called 'ground effects'? I've never heard of them being called that in the UK. On road cars they have nothing to do with the aerodynamic phenomenon of Ground effect. At best they provide a degree of anti-lift, which is not at all the same thing. At worst they just add drag. That is not to say that car manufacturers and sellers of body kits in the US or Asia don't call them 'ground effects' , of course! Any chance of some references?
