To-do list for Grocery store: |
edit · history · watch · refresh |
- Add more information / examples of non-American grocery stores/supermarkets like Stop&Shop, Pathmark, Waldbaums?
- More formal tone
- Online groceries, possibly with a link to a seperate article. Businesses such as Homegrocer.com, netgrocer, and the new beta Amazon Groceries have no representation on wikipedia yet.

[edit] Notable grocery stores
This list is very US-centered and contains virtually no grocery store companies from elsewhere. I think it would be a good idea to remove this list completely. HJV
[edit] Definition ??
The definition of a supermarket being bigger than a grocery store does not reflect common usage in the US (at least in the South). For example stores listed as "supermarket" in phone directories are usually of convenience store size. Grocery stores are usually operated by chains and are second in size only to hyper-markets. The definition used here is more common in Europe, where a "supermarket" is the equivalent of a US "grocerry store". (Clarifying that may keep a couple of people from nasty surprises when visiting the US and going shopping.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.51.15.7 (talk) 01:06, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
