Grossmont College is a community college located in El Cajon, California (county of San Diego). Grossmont College and Cuyamaca College make up the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District (GCCCD) with a single Governing Board and a Chancellor, currently Dr. Omero Suarez.

Grossmont College was voted "San Diego's Best" community college in polls conducted by the San Diego Union Tribune newspaper in 2004 and again in 2007.

In addition to preparing thousands of students for four-year universities, Grossmont is also home to Grossmont Middle College High School, where selected high school students can receive both high school and college credit for taking courses on campus.

The president is Dr. Sunita Cooke, who replaced interim president Dr. Dean Colli (who retired in June 2007). Dr. Colli had been interim president since January 2006, when the Governing Board voted not to renew the contract of then-president Dr. Ted Martinez.

The head football coach is Dave Jordan, father of author Brent Jordan. Dave Jordan has led Grossmont to multiple championships, and been named Coach of the Year.

The newspaper for Grossmont College is The Summit. Its radio station is KGFN.

The current sophomore class president is Cody Raschke while the freshman class president is Dave Verve. Grossmont College will have 800 fewer parking spaces for much of the year while a $24.5 million, three-level garage is built.[1]
