Grosser Preis der Dortmunder Wirtschaft

The Grosser Preis der Dortmunder Wirtschaft is a Group 3 flat horse race in Germany open to three-year-old and above thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 2,000 metres (1¼ miles) at Dortmund Racecourse, Dortmund and takes place annually in June.
Since the race was first run in 1968 it has been known at times as the Grosser Preis von Dortmund and the Grosser Preis der Dortmunder Industrie und Wirtschaft. In the early years the distance was frequently modified, ranging from 1,800 to 2,400 metres. A more prolonged spell at 1,800 metres began in 1981, reducing slightly to 1,750 metres in 1998. This continued until the present distance was introduced in 2008.
