Do they play Canadian Rules as well? CFL —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.237.54.62 (talk) 05:46, 16 May 2007

Hi, not sure about the other states, but Gridiron in NSW is played using American college, NCAA rules. --Bren talk 23:52, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Queensland uses NCAA and some junior games are played with highschool rules that are slightly less strict. Wraithcraze (talk) 10:24, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Season

Perhaps someone could include information on the time of year it's played in Aus? In Queensland it's Played Jul-Nov as a winter-spring sport. Wraithcraze (talk) 10:25, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Gridiron Australia logo.jpg

Image:Gridiron Australia logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Mergers

Following from AfD of two teams so far I have come here and seen the {{notability}} tag. I suggest a merge of all state articles to Gridiron Australia. As that article is expanded with citations to reliable sources these articles can be recreated.Garrie 02:43, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

I think I have incorporated the key information from each league into this article. What would be the best thing to add, would be some information about the national championship if there has been one on a reliable basis. From here on if there is no feeback I will redirect the member leagues in about a weeks time.Garrie 03:15, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Sounds fine to me. KnightLago 02:08, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Teams and leagues have been redirected to this article. --Breno talk 04:20, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Well I was going to wait till the weekend but hey it's done now! I truely think that it is more likely to provide an encyclopedic coverage of this sport in Australia by not dispersing effort across leagues and teams.Garrie 09:55, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Can someone familiar with the subject explain more about the league in general in the lead of this article? Like ages allowed and divisions etc. KnightLago 13:27, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
