Grinders is a footwear line established in 1965 in the United Kingdom. Famous for their air cushion sole and leather footwear for both men and women, Grinders have become one of the leading "Street Fashion Footwear" brands from the United Kingdom. Utilising some of the best craftsmen in England, Grinders are renowned for welted sole footwear. The sole unit, which is patented to Grinders, is heat sealed to the welt, giving the Grinder footwear range the strength and lasting durability of the Goodyear welt process. The unique air cushion sole enables flexibility and ensures guaranteed long lasting quality to every pair.
Grinders brand boots and shoes have been particularly popular in the UK and eastern Europe, especially among certain subcultures, such as rivetheads and skinheads. Famous musicians who have worn Grinders boots include members of Guns N' Roses, The Prodigy, Funeral Dress and E-17. Like Dr. Martens, Grinders are now made in China unless you buy them from the [British Boot Co] who have them made especially in Northamptonshire so the Grinder can retain the Made in England stamp.
