Griffith College Limerick (GCL) is a private college located on Old Town Hall, Rutland Street in Limerick, Ireland. The college was established in 2006 when the Mid West Business Institute was acquired by Griffith College. The college runs full time and part time courses in accountancy, business, law, engineering, computing & IT and has a range of part time courses available.

[edit] Accountancy
The college offers professional accountancy full and part time programmes for ACCA, and IATI as well as the ACCA Diploma in Financial Management. Griffith College Dublin - School of Professional Accountancy runs the ACA course in Limerick.
[edit] Business & Finance
The college runs a number of full time courses in Business validated by HETAC as well as full and part time ICM and BTEC courses, in Marketing, Human Resources Management, Travel and Tourism, Sports Management and Office Administration. Also this year the BA(Hons) in Accounting and Finance(HETAC) will begin in Griffith College Limerick.

Griffith Colleges The Professional Law School runs courses for the examinations for entry to the Law Society of Ireland in Limerick. The college also runs a number of ICM validated diploma courses in Legal studies.

There are a number of day and evening courses in Computing & IT at GCL, courses include the Diploma in Business Computing(ICM), Advanced Diploma in Personal Computing, Certificate/Diploma in Web & Internet Technologies (ICM) and International Diploma in Computer Studies (IDCS). There is progressing on to a BSc (Hons) in Computing and Internet Systems(awarded byUniversity of Huddersfield), subsequently there is a Postgraduate Diploma(awarded by NCC Education) and MSc in Strategic Business Information Technology (awarded by University of Portsmouth)

In 1998 the first engineering course commenced at the Mid West Business Institute and GCL remains the only private third level college in Ireland providing engineering courses. Griffith College Limerick offers part time and full time courses in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Griffith College Limerick also provides a number of training courses in Engineering, Business, Computing, Law, Media, Psychology, Operations & Training and Production & Inventory.

In the past the Mid West Business Institute provided MBA programmes awarded by University of Surrey in the UK, other programmes awarded by Oxford Brookes University in the UK also some business degree programmes were run in conjunction with the Limerick Institute of Technology(LIT).
[edit] New Courses Starting in Autumn 2007
New courses starting in September 2007 include HND in Media Journalism(BTEC/edexcel), Higher National Certificate in Health & Social Care Management(BTEC/edexcel) and National Certificate in Operations and Maintenance Engineering (BTEC/edexcel). The HETAC validated BA(Hons) in Accounting and Finance is also being run in limerick from this year.

The College has four comfortable lecture halls with ceiling mounted overhead projectors seat over four hundred students. A large quiet area beside the library for study is available to students. There is a canteen / recreation room available to students to meet and relax. Tea, coffee and vending machines provide light snacks.
[edit] Computer Rooms
The college has two modern CAT 5 networked computer rooms with internet access via broadband, printers, wireless routers for use with laptops, e-mail and all software required for the various IT and Engineering courses that are delivered at the college. The main computer room is equipped with a ceiling mounted projector.

The college has two Engineering Labs with electronic test equipment, pneumatic boards and equipment / components for experiments associated for the engineering programmes.

Course related books and journals are available from our library. On-line research facilities are available for students as well as the facility to access course material and lecture notes.

Academic and pastoral counseling is available to students of Griffith College Limerick. Assistance with professional course based work placement and casual employment is available through the college. For international students the college provides assistance with visa extensions, opening bank accounts, medical insurance, accommodation, travel etc.
[edit] Graduation
Graduation ceremony has takes place each November. In recent years, the ceremony has been hosted in St. Marys Cathedral in Limerick. These ceremonies have been attended by family and friends of graduates as well as representatives of the validation bodies such as HETAC, BTEC Edexcel, ICM and NCC, as well as local elected representatives.
Separate awards ceremonies take place for IATI and IPICS students with their awarding bodies.
