The Wireless Grid Fabric, in communication are MIMOS Berhad innovative for WiMAX multi-hop relay network IEEE802.16j [1] for rural area communication.
The idea of the wireless GridFabric is using multihop base stations (MR-BS)to forward messages to/from the network. The relay stations (RSs) are covering couple of km square area by using omni directional antenna. The shape of the coverage is assumed as square; each square are considered as Cell. By deploying every relay station (RS) The network scalability level is shifted from increasing the number of nodes level to increasing number of cells which it contains several nodes.
The rural area community that the Grid Fabric is going to support; assumed that the main traffic (content) is self created by the population (peer βto- peer). [2] e.g. video streaming, VOIP, IPTV, etc which all are multicast based. Wireless Grid fabric network has many advantages over the standard and the other mesh technologies (i.e. WiFi β Mesh and Fixed WiMAX β Mesh) where it achieved hundreds of Mbps with mobility for more than hundreds of mobile per services.
