GridApp Systems, Inc. is a software company that offers database automation software and appliance technologies. GridApp’s products are designed to provide to provide holistic insight, standards enforcement, and process automation across heterogeneous database infrastructures.
Founded in 2002 in New York City, USA, where it is still headquartered, GridApp Systems was the brainchild of five former employees of Register.com, Rob Gardos, Shamoun Murtza, Matthew Zito, Dan Cohen, and Eric Gross. The five realized that 85% of the routine tasks performed by database administrators could be automated[1], decreasing critical errors and improving productivity; all five continue to function as GridApp’s CEO, CTO, Chief Scientist, Director of Development, and Mr. Database respectively.
Aside from professional services, GridApp offers the D2500 Database Appliance, the only “fully automated and virtualized environment for Oracle RAC” [2] The company’s flagship product is the Clarity line of database automation software, which was named to the SearchSQLServer 2006 “Products of the Year,” taking Silver in the Performance and Tuning Category. [3]
The 3.5 release of Clarity was recently reviewed by InfoWorld, which praised the product for its ease of use, broad Oracle support, and patch management capabilities.[4]
