Hi. There was already a University of Auckland page - so I've made Auckland University into a redirect to it, and taken your text and put it on the talk page for you. You'll probably want to combine them. Secretlondon 10:51, Nov 28, 2003 (UTC)
[edit] Maori Wikipedia
Greetings, Greaser, fellow-Kiwi. I see not much activity from you in recent months (unless it continues anonymously). Maybe a look at the fledgling Maori Wikipedia may inspire something! Kind regards - Robin Patterson 00:50, 11 May 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Fart Physics
- You say that my article has flaws, yet you fail to outline what those supposed flaws are. Please elaborate. Also please check your spelling, argument only has one "e" in it.

- How embarassing... Oh well... Yeah, spelling's never been my forte; I guess too many trolls with weak arguements use it anyway. Greaser 05:02, 9 Jan 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Rugby leagie mini project
Hey, I just thought I'd let you know about a small project I am running. We just need a few more members before I decide to make it a full Wikiproject. Check out it's page and add your name if your interested. If you decide not to join the cause, at least I hope I've interested you and you'll think about contributing to some of our pages in the future. You may like this article, which I created recently. [edit] Category:Wikipedians in New Zealand
Hi, You might want to consider adding {{User NZ res}} to the top of your user page, which will add you to this category automatically and also add a nice graphic. Or simply add [[Category:Wikipedians in New Zealand]] which will have the same effect. If you want to help find fellow kiwis Click on this link [1] which will find all users who have "zealand" on their user page. I have done a few, but there are many more to do. Obviously don't just add it to everybody, read their user page to see if they actually live in NZ. Onco_p53 01:20, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Neo-Liberal
Hi - noted your edits on Rob Muldoon. I don't know the answer to this question, but do you think that "neo-liberal" is a completely non-judgmental (ie, none POV) label? Would Roger Douglas describe himself as a neo-liberal? It has always struck me as somewhat perjorative - ie you don't call something you like neo-liberal. Generally I have an aversion to political labels, as they almost never completely capture the subtleties of a person's detailed political perspective. Or is that just me being over-sensitive? ElectricRay 16:04, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
Greaser - thanks for your reply. Fair enough. Another one for you - I did a bit of work fleshing out the Ruthanasia article, but it does strike me that (in a way "Rogernomics" is not) "Ruthanasia" is a perjorative term which should be mentioned in the article, but should not be its title. However, I couldn't think of a succinct alternative. Can you? ElectricRay 07:58, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
It's spelled "pejorative"... well, bugger me, I did not know that! That's my lesson for the day! ElectricRay 22:33, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for that - fair enough. As you seem to be interested in these things, I thought you might be interested in a couple of accounts I have recently stumbnled upon - one is Marcia Russell's Revolution, a book accompanying the 1996 TVNZ series, whcih is a pretty fair and balanced portrayal, and the other is Lindsay Perigo's, published here, which is painted somewhat polemically from an ideological libertarian perspective. If you can get past the polemic and the cheap shots (I don't know what happened to Perigo - he seemed to wig out after he left TVNZ), Perigo's is a fairly interesting take I think. [edit] battle of ain jalut
Greetings, Greaser, we have been trying to get a politically neutral and historically accurate article on this battle. Your contributions were well placed, and appreciated in this effort. I have been rewriting the whole Mongol Empire series as part of the military project, and help such as yours, informed and positive, is GREATLY appreciated...old windy bear 01:06, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] On Track
Greaser - yeah, although between 1981 - 1990 the Railways actually operated the rail network, now they just maintain it. :-)/ BTW, I see you dropped the Monarchist user box... interesting... --Lholden 05:46, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Māori King Movement
hi Greaser. You added the foll to Māori King Movement: "It is a hereditary role, the succession occurs through the primogeniture mechanism." Do you have a source for that? Please see the comments by Midnighttonight and me on the article's Talk page. cheers Nurg 04:03, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Katherineheiglfhm2004.jpg)
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Katherineheiglfhm2004.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Yamla 14:52, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Corruption
Hi Greaser, noted your link to Image:World Map Index of perception of corruption.png... I do wonder how you account for the republics of Iceland, Finland, Germany, Switzerland... --Lholden 06:04, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- Indeed :-). I think we can agree that corruption is probably more linked to wealth and social structure, rather than constitutional structure. Certainly Japan and Norway / Sweden are fine upstanding monarchies; but it doesn't follow that all monarchies have less corruption - take Thailand for example... --Lholden 08:41, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Jellybeans
Here are some Jelly beans for you. I love jelly beans as they have sugar in them and most people love sugar. But on the other hand just receiving somthing from somone else just makes you happy and also just giving this to you makes me happy. I hope to spread the jelly beans all over Wikipedia, so here, you can have this lot. Please enjoy them. (I like the lime ones.)
Editors need a bit of a sugar high too.

Hello Greaser. I have seen you can speak Tongan. Can I ask you for help? User:Grutness recently created several stubs about islands of Tonga, I helped him with that. Next day anonymous IP from New Zealand have written to us some stuff in Tongan we do not understand. :) Can I ask you for translation? Thank you.

[edit] My concern about your username
Hello, Greaser, and welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?
See Greaser (derogatory).
I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.
You have several options freely available to you:
- If you can relieve my concern through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
- If the two of us can't agree here, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as asking for a "third opinion", or requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Wikipedia administrators usually abide by agreements reached through this process.
- You can keep your contributions history under a new username. Visit Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the guidelines there.
Let me reassure you that my writing here means I don't think your username is grossly, blatantly, or obviously inappropriate; such names get reported straight to Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention or blocked on sight. This is more a case where opinions might differ, and it would be good to reach some consensus — either here or at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User names. So I look forward to a friendly discussion, and to enjoying your continued participation on Wikipedia. Thank you. TML 20:25, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Auckland Hospital
Hi. Could you provide a reference for your state-owned enterprise addition? Haven't reverted it or anything, but that would profit from a ref. Cheers. Ingolfson 08:35, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Shortland Street
Hi there. I see you're a Kiwi, and apparently knowledgeable about Shortland Street. I'm trying to research a claim that Anna Wilding was once a character on the show, maybe in 1993, maybe in 1999, she may have played a character called Staci, or one called Gail (or Gayle), but despite these inconsistencies, the one thing claimed in particualr is that she portrayed the first ever "battered wife" on New Zealand TV. Given the extraordinary claim, I'm finding it hard to believe that I can find nothing either on the shortland street official site, nor on Street talk, the fan site. Are you able to shed any light on this? — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 20:39, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Mohlogo.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Mohlogo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:51, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
