According to Bird Life International, Taxonomic note:
- Dendropicos goertae and D. spodocephalus (Sibley and Monroe 1990, 1993) have been lumped and transferred to the genus Mesopicos following Dowsett and Forbes-Watson (1993). [1]
I've cross-checked this and Mesopicos not Dendropicos is more widely accepted species designation. Hence I'm revising this page accordingly. Thank you! ThomHasi 12:07, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
