[edit] Suggested 40k Article Guidelines

I have:

  • An overall page of general guidelines
  • A list that defines different types of articles on differt subjects
  • For Armies "Army Page"
  • For Technology "Technology Page" (equivalent to "Weapons, Vehicles, Equipment Page", or, "WVE page")
  • For Notable Planets "Notable Planet Page"
  • (User:Pak21 already made guidelones for notable characters, but a link to that is included)
  • A statement of purpose for my guidelines
  • Left room for more guidelines to come

--Nothing offical will be done with the guidelines (moved or put to use) until several Wikipedians involved in the Warhammer 40,000 project have verified it.-- Colonel Marksman's Proposed Guidelines

[edit] Grey Knights origin

Can I suggest updating the Grey Knights origin with the posisbility that they are descended from loyal 'traitor' geneseed from 8 of the Eisenstein crew?- Primarch

You can suggest it. However, it shouldn't be added to the article unless you can cite a verifiable, reliable source for that claim in accordance with policy. Cheers --Pak21 06:58, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Sure. Merrett, Alan (2006). Horus Heresy – Volume IV: Visions of Death. Nottingham: Black Library. 8 marines with latent psyker powers from the Eisenstein flight are presented by Malcador to the Emperor and it is strongly implied that they go on to form the first Grey Knights.Primarch 11:42, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
Since there doesn't seem to be any disagreement, can I assume that it would be acceptable to edit the Grey Knight origin myself? If so, I'll simply add the extra canonical theory on top of what is already there.Primarch 02:38, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Well, I've gone ahead and altered the page accordingly. Hope everyone is satisfied with the result. Let me know if further information or alteration is required.202.7.166.174 13:47, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

God, I can't believe I was so careless to spellcheck it! Apologies for the mixup re : ISSN number Rsquire 23:38, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Powers section

Is the Psychic Inquisition only used in Dark Crusade or is it used in the miniature version as well?

The only Grey Knight power is Holocaust. It is very similar to the Psychic power scourging used by Inquisitors, though. SanchiTachi 02:05, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Spoiler Warning

Can we get a spoiler warning put on all of the articles which talk about the Horus Heresy? I can understand the big picture, but especially here, the fact that Captain Garro becomes a Grey Night spoiled that suprise for me in the series, I am not completely through "Flight" yet. Hardcorps103 07:24, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

He can't have become a grey knight. The book *SPOILER DON'T READ* strongly implies that he forms the inquisition, not the Grey Knights. The one common factor that ALL the Grey Knights share is that they are psychers. Garro displays absolutely no psychic abilities whatsoever throughout the entire book. Therefore, he doesn't even belong in a wikipedia article about the Grey Knights. Iowasf 01:38, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Hmm, good point. I suggest that the section is referenced out until we can get collaborating sources one way or the other. Darkson (Yabba Dabba Doo!) 01:42, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
Done. If I get time tomorrow I'll mention it on the 40K project site, to see if there's a consensus either way. Darkson (Yabba Dabba Doo!) 01:50, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Garro

This line: "From this, it can be inferred that Battle-Captain Garro had some part to play in the early formative period of the Grey Knights, possibly even as the Chapter's first Grand Master". Can this be cited, or is it WP:OR? Darkson (Yabba Dabba Doo!) 01:32, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

It's complete speculation. Iowasf 01:37, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Agreed. Speculation that I quite like, but still only Original Research. So it doesn't really have a place in the article.Primarch 02:10, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] black Templars

Small point. In here it states that the grey knights are the only psycer that the black Templars are allowed to fight along side. However, in the black Templar section it says that they will not fight with any psycer, including the grey knights. I can definitely see this as being they type of thing said in two different white dwarfs, but is there some agreement on which it is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.232.146.190 (talk) 21:15, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
