[edit] Lloyd = best players to ever played in NFL despite the injuries
Greg Lloyd was a fantastic blitzing linebacker and even regular linebacker to play in the NFL. The only thing that separates Lloyd and LBs like Taylor and Butkus is that he didn't have the longevity even to Taylor. I seen games where Lloyd just dominates offenses with his sheer fear and blitzing ability would line up with any LB to play in NFL. Lloyd just did not have the resiliense and even the dominatability the skills of a Taylor had even a Ronnie Lott, I'm not saying that they weren't a pussy but Greg Lloyd was in his prime one of the greatest feared, blitzing, educated, and even best primed LBs to play the game. Were their any greater LBs? I would even say YES. But Greg Lloyd was one of the most feared of his era. Its not like there were greater defensive players. I would say Chuck Bednarik, Richard Dent, Lawerence Taylor, Dick Butkus, Willie Davis, Ray Nitschke, were 100% definately better, but Greg Lloyd was one of the best of his era. He would probably not get a Hall of Fame consideration until he's been in late 60s though. Longevity gets Lloyd out of there even purposely and even fairlessly cuz its not like he was THE dominating #1 defensive player at that time cuz there were legitmately other players in that era would give him run for his money like Derrick Thomas, Neil Smith, Bruce Smith, Lawerence Taylor, and other dominating defensive players would give him a run for his money, but I think Greg Lloyd is a definate hall of famer. I'm not saying fairlessly to give alot of other players to give him a chance but there is a definate lock to give Lloyd a HOFer chance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.255.28.81 (talk) 08:21, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
